From our Law Firm we would like to mention the 39th anniversary of the assassination of three lawyers, a student and a trade union representative in a Labour Law Firm in Madrid on the night of the 24th of January 1977.
The aforementioned crime was clearly a right-wing extremist operation with links to the most extremist sectors of the State Services. All those murdered were members of the Communist Party and Comisiones Obreras. So reads the statue in homage to the Atocha Lawyers in the Plaza de Antón Martín in Madrid. Neo-fascist right-wing extremists were behind the massacre.
Such a crime was called "The Atocha crime". The lawyers and members of the firm who were victims of that crime were:
- Luis J. Benavides. Murdered
- Alejandro Ruiz. Wounded.
- Enrique Valdelvira. Killed.
- Javier Sauquillo. Killed.
- Luis Ramos. Wounded.
- Mª Dolores García. Wounded.
- Serafín Holgado. Killed.
- Miguel Sarabia. Wounded.
- Ángel Rodríguez. Murdered.
From our Law Firm, and specifically from the Labour Law Department, we express our total repudiation of this type of acts against the rule of law, freedom and legal equality.
